Dan Hayes – President/Chief Executive Officer
As President/CEO of J.R. Hayes for the past 17 of his 27 years with the company, Dan has provided leadership and direction in the establishment of new technologies in soil amendment while expanding the capacity of the company to meet ever changing and increasing challenges imposed by business and environmental forces. He has lead the company into a pre-eminent position in the industry by establishing heightened standards of excellence in client service and innovative construction techniques.
Nick Hayes – Vice President/Chief Operations Officer
Nick brings 27 years of site work construction to the business of overseeing all aspects of company operations including trucks, equipment, job site supervision, and personnel management. He also oversees the safety program. Nick works closely with our clients and their representatives or consultants to maintain efficient work performance, and also provides the team with valuable engineering and implementation input.
Gary LaSala – General Manager, Chief Financial Officer
Gary, a 25 year veteran of J.R. Hayes, oversees all division managers. His sound financial and tax guidance and strategic planning has helped us become a leading site development contractor. Our financial strength, developed through his fiscal fitness program, provides the means to complete any and all challenges. Gary is past President of the Maple Valley Chamber of Commerce, and serves as an active member in community civics.
Lisa McKenney - Assistant Controller and Office Manager

Lisa brings over 20 years of accounting and administrative experience to her work with J.R. Hayes. She has been with the company for over six years and supervises the following company departments: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, the scale, and all general accounting and administration. Lisa insures that all departments are running smoothly and working together efficiently.
Elayn Schultz- Construction Accounting System Manager
Elayn oversees all aspects of project administration including job costing, payment applications and contract management. She also manages the development and maintenance of our construction software system. Elayn is a seasoned administrator with over 25 years of accounting experience, 7 of which were in the construction field.
Mike Koehler - Human Resource Manager/Safety Director
Mike has been with the company for 15 years, but brings 23 years experience in the construction trades to his work of managing our company's safety and education programs. Mike is consistently engaged in networking with other safety professionals in similar and diverse industries to exchange new and improved safety practices. He conducts safety seminars, meetings, and training for in-house as well as outside audiences.
Jim Kelly - Senior Project Manager
Jim's responsibilities include overseeing all major projects and their teams, contracting, facilities management, soil amendment technical support, IT management and maintaining jurisdictional relationships pertaining to permitting and regulatory issues. Major projects include: Issaquah Commons, Intel Dupont, Eastlake Sammamish Center, Microsoft Highlands, Issaquah Highlands, Evergreen State College, and 2200 Westlake. Jim has 31 years of construction experience, and has been with the company for 15 years.
Tom Young - Development Manager
Tom's vast experience in vertical construction and site work has ranged from airports, to 5-star resorts, data centers, master planned community developments, distribution centers, and cold storage facilities. He has 22 years of construction and land development experience with projects totaling over $800 million. At J.R. Hayes, Tom is responsible for enforcing sound project management procedures in the field, and assisting clients in feasibility and entitlement studies
Greg Burton - Chief Estimator
Greg has spent the last 10 of his 19 years in construction estimating all types of site development including master planned communities, commercial, residential, mixed-use, road construction and land development. He specializes and enjoys working with our customers from the early conceptual stage of development to feasibility, and through the final design. A seasoned expert in value engineering, preliminary budgets, contingencies, and final bid proposals; Greg has provided our clients with accurate and complete estimates for project cash flow, and analysis of construction proposals.
Tony Perrotti - Equipment and Shop Manager/ Purchasing Manager
With over 16 years of service in the heavy equipment industry, Tony's knowledge and expertise in OEM maintenance and repair methods keeps our equipment running at peak performance, and our operational costs low. Tony also oversees acquisition of all trucks and equipment for the company, as well as securing hundreds of pieces of rental equipment each year. His thrifty management allows us to pass our cost savings along to our clients.
Dale Ebi - Transportation Manager/Truck "Boss"
"Truck Boss" Dale Ebi, a 28 year construction veteran, has kept our signature red trucks rolling throughout the Puget Sound region for nearly 22 years. His pride of the fleet and commitment to his job has resulted in a reputation for the cleanest and best maintained trucks, driven by the most professional and courteous drivers. Dale's attention to least-cost transport, and disposal locations has saved our clients thousands of dollars.
Sandy Hillborn - Manager of Soil Amendments
Sandy's expertise in soil amendment application and 35 years of site work experience provides J.R. Hayes with an unsurpassed advantage in dealing with wet soils that confound other site development contractors. His range of experience also encompasses Project Manager, General Superintendent, and Equipment Manager for a wide array of project types including: highways, military bases, subdivisions, and industrial sites.
